As the only children’s hospital in British Columbia, the major focus of the Department of Pediatrics is the provision of secondary and tertiary care for the children and youth of British Columbia. Clinical care is provided within 19 divisions and additional multidisciplinary clinics and programs. Clinical care is primarily provided within BC Children’s Hospital (BCCH), located in Vancouver, British Columbia. The BCCH facility has 227 beds providing care to the smallest premature infants, children and high school youth. Approximately 7,000 infants are delivered on site each year.
