Dr. Dzung Vo, Division Head, Adolescent Health and Medicine and Director of the BC Children’s Hospital Centre for Mindfulness
Kudos to Dr. Dzung Vo, Dr. Joanna McDermid, Dr. Katarina Tabi, Kaleigh McLeod and Frances Tong at the BC Children’s Hospital Centre for Mindfulness for their outstanding hard work and dedication in serving the C&W campus during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Health professionals are at an especially high risk for developing stress-related conditions, such as burnout, depression and anxiety. Mindfulness has been demonstrated to be an important tool to help mitigate these difficulties and enhance traditional approaches to treating illness and supporting wellness.
Dr. Vo and his team at the BC Children’s Hospital Centre for Mindfulness have gone above and beyond to provide invaluable wisdom, calm and support by offering an array of virtual Mindful Meditations via Zoom to our campus.
There are so many disruptive forces at play that have fragmented people’s lives to the core but through the work of this team, we are reminded that:
“We are all the leaves of one tree. We are all the waves of one sea.” – Thich Nhat Hanh
The BC Children’s Hospital Centre for Mindfulness aspires to support mindfulness practice, including clinical and educational programs, health professional development, and research.
