Department of Pediatrics Resident & Fellow Research Award
The resident and fellow winners of Best Research Paper Competition during Pediatric Research Day receive the Department of Pediatrics Resident or Fellow Research Award for the year. The winner’s names are added to the Department Research Award plaque. The awards are presented by the Research Director and Scholarly Activities Coordinator at the annual Graduation Banquet in June. Winners receive a personal mini plaque and a cash prize.
Pediatric trainees may be nominated for awards recognizing trainee achievement in research that is directed at improving the health of children and youth.
Outstanding Achievement by a Resident
This award recognizes a resident whose scholarly activity, industry and commitment to the research endeavour are an example to other trainees and have contributed to advances in child and youth health.
Outstanding Achievement by a Clinical Subspecialty Resident or Fellow
This award recognizes a clinical sub-specialty resident or fellow whose research initiatives were pursued in a conscientious, original manner and who has the potential for academic excellence in their future career.
Pediatric residents having a manuscript published, “accepted” or “in press” are considered for the department’s nomination to the Clinical Investigator Program (CIP). The Department may nominate only 1 resident for this prize; the nomination is submitted in May for CIP committee review.
