Ms. Astrid De Souza MSc, BSc | Pediatrics Residency Wellness Lead

We are excited to announce that Ms. Astrid De Souza MSc, BSc is our new Pediatrics Residency Wellness Lead, effective July 1, 2024. Astrid is a Clinical Exercise Physiologist who has worked in the Division of Cardiology since 2006. In addition to her clinical role that is largely focused on supporting the physical health and overall well-being of patients, she has also been involved in the teaching and mentoring of many undergraduate and graduate students, medical trainees, subspeciality residents and clinical fellows.

Understanding the challenges that many trainees face and the pressures of working in the health care system, she recognized that her skills and experience could be used in service of physicians’ well-being. She set on a journey to build her coaching skills, to support female physician wellness on the C&W campus, and to learn mindfulness techniques for clinicians.

She is now looking forward to sharing her knowledge and experience to support the health and well-being of our medical residents.

Please join me in welcoming Astrid to her new role!
