Congratulations to Dr. Mariana Brussoni and Ms. Kinwa Bluesky for their 2023 Strategic Investment Fund (SIF) award to fund their research project entitled, Actualizing Indigenous Data Sovereignty Principles.
Following a detailed review, the Dean selected 9 proposals for funding based on recommendations from the SIF review panel, for a total allocation of $1.3M. Of the selected proposals, 6 proposals are focused on Indigenous objectives.

Summary:
Bring equity to HELP’s data and knowledge sharing processes and support research and evidence-based decision-making to improve the health and well-being of First Nations, Inuit and Metis children by developing a data platform and data access framework that respect Indigenous data sovereignty.
