Dr. Schreiber is the recipient of the 2022 CASL-CLF Sass Kortsak Lecture Award from the Canadian Association for the Study of the Liver (CASL).
This award is given out every 2 years to a pediatric hepatologist who has made significant career contributions to the liver health of children.
Dr. Schreiber’s career as a pediatric hepatologist included his time at BC Children’s Hospital from 1997-2022.
He is recognized world-wide as an expert in Biliary Atresia, and spearheaded the implementation of the BC Infant Stool Colour Screening Program to enable early diagnosis of this serious disease in newborns.
