UBC Department of Pediatrics Resident and Fellow Researchers Come Out on Top!

We are delighted to announce that our candidates to the 29th Annual National Pediatric Resident and Fellow Research Competition (known as the Winnipeg Competition) have both WON!

Dr. Rebecca Ronsley won in a tie for first place in the Pediatric Resident category with her research titled “Acute kidney injury in children with type 1 diabetes hospitalized for diabetic ketoacidosis” , and Dr. Eimear McGovern, fellow in Cardiology, won in the Fellow category with her work titled “Optical coherence tomography for the early detection of cardiac allograft vasculopathy in cardiac transplant recipients: Findings from the International Pediatric OCT Registry”. It is fantastic news for all involved and again notably to Rebecca as this is her second National Winnipeg Competition win as a resident after also winning in 2015.

We congratulate them both on winning this prestigious award, and their research mentors (Drs.  Dina Panagiotopoulos, Cherry Mammen, and Kevin Harris) on their outstanding efforts.
