Dr. Iain Johnstone trained in Pediatrics and PICU in London before taking up a consultant post in Newcastle-upon-Tyne in 2006. He was the Head of PICU at the Great North Children’s Hospital before taking on the role of Clinical Director at GNCH with a remit for the whole children’s hospital. Dr. Johnstone is a strong advocate of teamwork and the importance of communication and interpersonal relationships in the ICU and beyond.
On a personal note, Dr. Johnstone and his family are settling in well their new life in Vancouver. In his spare time, he enjoys music, cycling, skiing and, when time allows, the odd triathlon.
