Biography:
Dr. Uthaya Kumaran Kanagaraj received his medical degree, completed his pediatric residency and trained in Neonatology in India. He completed his Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine and Targeted Neonatal Echocardiography (TNE) fellowships at the University of British Columbia between 2021 and 2024. He also holds a Graduate Diploma in Clinical Epidemiology (GDCE) from McMaster University, 2023-2024. Dr. Kanagaraj is part of the TNE and point of care ultrasound (POCUS) team. His primary clinical and research interests include bronchopulmonary dysplasia and chronic pulmonary hypertension in extremely preterm infants. He is particularly focused on the early identification and intervention of these conditions, integrating advanced neonatal hemodynamics to improve outcomes for the smallest and sickest babies.
