Dr. Sylvia Cheng
We are pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Sylvia Cheng to the Division of Hematology/Oncology/BMT at the rank of Clinical Assistant Professor. Dr. Cheng received her medical degree from the University of British Columbia followed by her Postgraduate Residency Training in Pediatrics at The Hospital for Sick Children, University of Toronto in 2011. She recently completed her Postgraduate Residency Subspecialty Training in Pediatric Hematology and Oncology at the The Hospital for Sick Children, University of Toronto in 2014. She is currently in the process of completing a Masters of Science in the Health Practitioner Teacher Education program from the Dalla Lana School of Public Health at the University of Toronto, focusing on assessment in postgraduate medical education.
Her specific clinical interests are in pediatric neuro-oncology and brain tumours. Throughout her training, she has been active in clinical research and has presented her research at national and international oncology meetings. She expects to continue these scholarly endeavours in both clinical oncology research and medical education throughout her career.
