Dr. Brenden Hursh

We are pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Brenden Hursh to the Division of Endocrinology, Department of Pediatrics at the rank of Clinical Assistant Professor.

Dr. Hursh was born in Whitehorse, Yukon and subsequently raised in Calgary, Alberta. He attended Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York City where he received his medical degree in 2007. He and his wife then relocated to the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor where he completed his pediatric residency and chief residency.  Now in Vancouver, he has completed three years of fellowship in endocrinology at BCCH.   During his endocrinology fellowship, he was selected by the Department to be Chief Fellow.

During this past year, he also completed the coursework for a Master of Health Science degree at UBC.   His primary research project has been investigating changes in both inflammatory markers and the autonomic nervous system in children with obesity.  He is very grateful for the opportunity to continue with BC Children’s Hospital and to join the Endocrine and Diabetes Unit.
